Makoshika is a 50-minute documentary on the communities and newcomers of the rugged Montana and North Dakota landscape. The have seen dramatic changes over more than a century— boom towns have emerged from barren landscape, withered into ghost towns when the weather turned or jobs disappeared, and then come back to thrive again.
At the heigh of the last oil boom, an influx of people, wealth and development once again transformed the area.
Makoshika is an artful, informative portrait of a fascinating American region undergoing yet another huge transformation.
